Ideas for new arrangements can come from unusual places. In this instance, I heard this tune on the car radio and by the time I arrived home, most of the arrangement was completed in my head. God works in strange ways.

The repeated ostinato in the flugels is traded off between two players to save chops as well as other repetitious figures. Even the melody is performed by two different individuals for the same benefit.

The recording included four trumpets and four flugelhorns but it will work equally well for eight trumpets/ eight cornets/ or eight flugelhorns.

I would rate this as one of my top five arrangements this year and I hope you enjoy it as much as I.

This arrangement would without doubt get a #1 rating at contest!
