Bull was one of the most famous composers of keyboard music of the early 17th century, exceeded only by Sweelinck in the Netherlands, Frescobaldi in Italy, and, some would say, by his countryman and elder, the celebrated Willian Byrd. He left many compositions for keyboard, some of which were collected in the Fitzwilliam Virginal Book.

This was originally written for a string ensemble and after spending half a day adding places for the brass players to breath, I finally got it together and I am very pleased at the outcome.

This piece contains three contrasting sections which would work well on any brass recital.
