The Clarke Technical Study exercises are without doubt the most popular finger/slide exercises in the world for brass players. Every studio requires them and for that reason I have continued with my collection of ensemble music based on these exercises. My interest started with the studies written for trumpet quartets and now includes all eight studies for two trumpets. Just imagine when your student comes in prepared to perform one of these studies for his/her lesson and you place the corresponding duet on the stand for you both to enjoy. This will be very popular with the students also for they can ask a friend to join them playing the exercises as a duet. Each study includes from two to seven versions, depending on the length of each exercise. Study #2 includes seven versions in seven different keys.
