This needs an explanation.
Chop-Sticks is well known and the original, published version of this piece was done by John Lee Thompson in 1941. I thought it would be great to use his original arrangement as the basis for my trumpet duet. Several of the original variations were omitted because of the unsuited nature for trumpets.
I alternated the trumpet work with the piano in order to showcase the contrast as well as saving the trumpet players chops.
I think this would be a great special number on your next concert or a wonderful number for Solo Ensemble contest.
