I wanted to do a nice swing/shuffle number and Kansas City was right at the top. This fun loving number was written for our next concert and I wanted to feature our Bass player.

In the recording, the bass plays a short run up on top of a sustained chord in the trumpets. At that point, the bass has an open, extended solo and after finishing the solo, the bass starts a vamp to let the others know it is time to wake up.

I think this will do well this year and I hope you like it as well.
