This was originally written for voice but I think it works better as an instrumental number. The only difficulty will be the time signature changes. If you think constant quarter notes, it almost plays its self. Britten has created a marvelous composition and I encourage you to purchase this for your advanced high school or professional quartet for it is fantastic!

As a serious recital or contest number, this would be hard to beat.
