This was originally written as a horn trio and because of the constant playing of the three parts, I have distributed the work load among the four trumpet players. This enables each player to get the mouthpiece off the “chops” for brief periods of rest. The performers will be challenged with wide intervals and sometimes fast runs. The fourth part will require good low Gs in order for this number to work. I have included both the low octave as well as the octave above if the player has difficulty reaching the lower note. This piece includes some very impressive melodic lines and should challenge your better players.
