The title came from the jazz technique of playing a different tune with the original chord structure. This technique is called “quoting”. The number starts out in a conventional manner and at the half way point starts to get more improvisatory. Each player has an opportunity to play their own quote and at the end, all four players combine into a mass free for all then ends in a very conventional manner. Each player has his/her time in the spot light. All solos are written out.
